Rotors. We’ve tried a bunch. The land is strewn with plenty of ok ones, some really bad ones and a handful of good ones. The Galfer road/gravel rotors (the only Galfer rotors we currently sell) are impressively light, but do not skimp on stopping power. The rotors clock in at 80 grams per brake for the 160mm size. That’s light! A SRAM Centerline rotor is 34 grams heavier. There are lighter rotors out there, but they either have less bite or wear quickly, or both.
If you want light, no fuss, and no compromise, get these Galfer rotors.
If you are a heavier rider, say 180lbs and or always ride around with a big ole load of vintage Konica Press 2 cameras, you should get even beefier rotors. The Galfer would work, but more surface area means more bite, and more bite means better stopping for heavier loads.
Not for mountain use. Set these up on your Tanglefoot Hardtack in gravel mode, or your Veloci Plan Big, that sort of thing.
